About SWFL Now

SWFL Now is one place for what's happening in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties: local news, events and the things neighbors are talking about, organized by town and kept where you can find it again.

How a story gets here

We gather items through the day from local news outlets, government sites and public posts. Each item is summarized in our own words, its source link is checked, and a person reviews it. Nothing is published without that approval.

Every story links to where it came from, so you can read the original. We don't copy articles, photos or videos; we summarize and link.

Buzz and rumors

Some things people talk about haven't been confirmed yet. Those carry an orange dashed Buzz badge, so you can tell them apart from confirmed reporting at a glance. Stories backed by one credible source carry a yellow Single source badge, and stories verified with multiple credible sources carry a green Confirmed badge. We leave out buzz about named people or businesses unless we can verify it.

Crime and politics

We name adults only when police or court records do, always as charged or accused, and we update stories when charges are dropped or a person is acquitted. We never name minors or victims. Political coverage is neutral and local: voting information, ballot measures, local races and event notices, treated alike for every party.

Corrections

If we got something wrong, email corrections@swflnow.com with the story link. We respond within 48 hours and note corrections on the story.
